This bookcase was commissioned by a client with a collection of Japanese prints. We worked together to come up with a design that reflects the minimalist style of Japanese furniture. FSC certified Sapele was used as the main timber, it's beautifully dark and rich texture working well with the ebony stained backboards. The construction utilizes invisible joinery so there are no signs of fixings helping maximize the minimalist design. The stand was constructed using bridal joints and the entire unit was finished with a face frame that gives extra depth of field.
